Toy Fair 2008
Amok Time is back from Toy Fair 2008 with lots of news, updates
and other surprises!
First off we would like to thank everyone who stopped by to say
hi, place an order or just ask questions. Your interest was much
appreciated. Dealers, Press and Fans had questions.
Most of them were surprised we had so much stuff coming out. We
want to make things absolutely crystal clear as well as let you
know what’s going.
Here’s a list of
some FAQ’s”
Q: Are you guys Majestic
Studios?
A: No. In case you haven’t
heard, We are Amok Time. After the unfortunate end of Majestic
Studios we wanted to make sure that someone continued their
great line of Classic Battlestar Galactica action figures. That
someone is US. Amok Time will continue
the Classic BSG line thru 2010. We are
improving the original Majestic Cylon’s, Both Silver and Gold,
so that they are more accurate then the original release. We
will be adding the Cylon’s skirt, the one part of their
distinctive uniform, that was missing from the original Majestic
release.
Q: Why is the guy from Sea Hunt in a Battlestar
Galactica outfit?
A: What’s Sea Hunt? That’s
Lloyd Bridges, the original Commander Cain, from one of our
favorite BSG episodes “The Living Legend”. He will be the first
of 6 new 12in collectors figures slated for 2008-10. We are glad
to see everyone saw his distinctive likeness but you really
should pick up the Classic BSG DVD box set and see for yourself.
Q: Who else is coming for Classic BSG?
A: The Cylons in Silver/Gold
in improved outfits for a start.
Followed by the first ever 1/6th scale versions of:
Lt. Boomer,
Col. Tigh,
Commander Cain,
Lucifer and
Athena!
Q: Will Lucifer have a light up head?
A: Sorry no. He will have a
clear dome head that when a light source is above it will make
the head and eyes glow. We will be posting pics of how it looks
real soon and it does look good!
Q: What is the connection between Amok Time and
Executive Replica’s
A: Amok Time is one company,
Executive replicas is another. We are the exclusive distributor
for Executive Replicas.
Q: What does that mean?
A: What that means in a nut
shell is, we are not the producers of any items made by
Executive Replicas. What we are is the sole place to buy the
items made by Executive Replicas, wholesale or retail. We, Amok
Time, handle all of their Wholesale and Retail sales
exclusively.
Q: So which items are Amok Time’s and which are
Executive Replica’s?
A: Here’s the breakdown:
Amok Time is the license holder and design team for: Classic
Battlestar Galactica, Universal Monsters, Day of the Dead,
Vincent Price Collection, Rondo Hatton, Tor Johnson and the
Groovie Goolies.
Executive Replicas is the license holder and design team for:
Lost in Space, Monsters HD, Seka, Bettie Page, Night of the
Living Dead and the Boris Karloff Collection.
Q: What about the items
limited production numbers? Will some items still be limited to
only 500 pcs?
A: All items produced by
Amok Time or Executive Replica’s will be “M.T.O.”. “M.T.O.” =
Made to order. Some production numbers might be changed according to our pre-orders. What
that means is, if we initially set orders for only 500 pcs. but
take 800 orders, we will produce enough to fulfill all
pre-orders, in the other case if we set a production run for 500
and only get 100 orders an item may be delayed or in the worst
case cancelled. This
system, (M.T.O.) is used by businesses to gauge interest and
customer demand. More importantly it makes
sure that items are not overproduced. It ensures the value of
the item and avoids overproduction. We want to guarantee
everyone can get the items we produce or distribute for the most
reasonable price. We will not overproduce any item and want them
to remain collectible for years to come.
Q: How will I know what an
item is limited to?
A: When we are ready to
close orders for an item an edition will be set and posted on
our web site.
Q: How can I guarantee that the items you showed at
toy fair will be made?
A: EASY, just pre-order now.
A pre-order costs nothing, you are not charged for anything till
an item is ready to ship and is cancelable if you decide you do
not want it. By placing a pre-order now you are
helping us gauge interest in a product and facilitate it’s
manufacture. Please remember all items are made to order,
If you don’t pre-order you may be subject to inflated prices
once an item is released or sold out.
Q: Is anything guaranteed for production this year?
A: YES! (production editions
are not set yet) The following items are guaranteed:
Classic
Battlestar Galactica, Universal Monsters,
Day of the Dead,
Rondo
Hatton, The Vincent Price Collection,
Gort and Klaatu,
Night of
the Living Dead,

Q: What else is coming?
A: What Else? All we can say
now is we prefer to keep things quiet until we are ready to
surprise you with what’s in store, There is a lot more in store!
